METHODS OF TEACHING LEGAL DISCIPLINES AT EXTRAMURAL STUDIES

E. N. Yudina, V. S. Durnev

Abstract. The extramural course has to be methodically provided taking into account features of the available
contingent of students. It is necessary to consider age specifics, previous education, and professional
and life experience as well. This increases their motivation, promotes stronger assimilation of knowledge.
Therefore the technique of teaching has to be constructed on close interrelation of theoretical content of the
delivered discipline with future or current practical activities of trainees. Such an opportunity is given by
the “case-study’’ method. Specifics of application of this method for teaching legal disciplines are considered
in the article. The article also highlights other features of the method of teaching for students of extramural
department such as written tests, requirements for essays, creative work and others.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN SOCIAL SPACE OF MODERN RUSSIA

D. A. Gusev, O. V. Flerov

Abstract. The article demonstrates mechanisms of main factors influencing the development of the
system of continuing professional education. The authors clearly differentiate two groups of factors:
external (social, cultural, demographic) and internal that are organizational pedagogical conditions
immediately connected with educational process. They are the verge of interconnection of pedagogical
process itself and educational management issues so popular nowadays. The latter in their turn are
connected with the problems of society as an outer space where educational organizations compete under
commercialization and educational services market.
Though many problems are only raised, its novelty consists in interconnecting them in an interdisciplinary
context, so they can give food for thought and material for deeper researches in this matter.

PROFESSIONAL IMAGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND WAYS OF ITS IMPROVEMENT

O. N. Stepanova, V. A. Shary

Abstract. Research in the field of general and professional imageologyhas been conducted since 1990,
but the problem of forming a professional image of physical education teacheris still poorly understood.
To fill this gap, the authors organized a survey of Moscow schoolchildren – pupils of 10–11 grades. Respondents
were given the task to write a concisely, no more than 30 words, phrases or sentences their associations,
thoughts or value judgments associated with the phenomenon of “physical education teacher”.
The results of quantitative content analysis of the poll showed that the number of positive epithets was 3
times higher than the number of negative ones, and the total number of positive opinions (including the
frequency of their occurrence in the responses) was 4.7 times greater than the number of negative. This
indicates that physical education teacher has a more positive rather than a negative image. Based on the
results of a qualitative content analysis of schoolchildren’s statements there wasdeveloped a model of the
image of the physical education teacher. This model includes 7 components: habitus, kinetic, emotional,
verbal and communicative, education, professionalism and competence, moral character. Each component
contains a set of real (positive, neutral and negative) image characteristics. The article identifies
and describes the stages of work on improving the professional image of physical education teacher:
1) selection of image audience; 2) formulation of image tasks; 3) drawing of image characteristics; 4) correlation
of actual and desired characteristics and determine ways to work with them; 5) selection of tools
and techniquesforworking on the image; 6) development of the schedule of activities to promote the image.

THE CONTINUITY OF SECONDARY GENERAL AND HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS

I. G. Odoevceva, N. V. Markova, N. V. Eyrikh

Abstract. Teaching experience at the University demonstrates that the knowledge and skills of firstyear
students in mathematics is insufficient, fragmentary and unsystematic, which is due, in our opinion,
to „coaching” students just to pass the State exam, lack of continuity of school and high mathematics
education. As a way of solving this problem, the authors propose to implement components of the
teaching and learning continuity in mathematics classes. The article describes the potential of school
mathematics course, indicates the school subjects that are the „basis” for the successful completion of
the course of higher mathematics, gives examples and solutions of tasks in higher mathematics with
the indication of basic school skills.
Keywords: continuing education, continuity, content, components of teaching and learning continuity,

Childhood Institute (Moscow State University of Education). The cornerstone method of the research is
analysis of reading competence and literature perception of students of Elementary School Teacher
Training department. The most prominent results of the research is in new curricula enabling future
teachers to reach the necessary degree of reading competence. The materials presented in article are
intended for teacher training college and university professors, as well as for scholars and researchers
concentrating in literature studies teaching issues.
The article covers the work with Elementary School Teacher Training students, focused on elevating
their reading and teaching competence. Classes are based on ‘The Adventures of Baron Munchausen’
by Erich Raspé and the workbook ‘Liar, Inventor, Dreamer’ (part of ‘Little Readers’ teaching aid kit by
Tatiana Troitskaya and Olga Petukhova).
The new practice-oriented approach to teacher training has redefined the concepts behind teaching
practice. Students teach at schools once a week, preparing and planning their classes in advance under
guidance of experts in literature studies and psychology. Students routinely videotape classes they
teach and upload the recordings to the online learning management system. The recordings are reviewed

PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING READING: THE INTERPRETATION OF J. FOUCAMBERT’S IDEAS THROUGH THE SYSTEM-ORGANIZATIONAL APPROACH

I. V. Kharitonova, E. E. Belayeva

Abstract. The article represents a philosophical understanding of the early reading education problem,
posed by J. Foucambert. It is proved that the approaches which are based on the comparison of
graphical and acoustic forms of words are traditionally used during the early reading education. It
was established that the direct chain link between the graphical phrase and related to it mental images
allows to provide the complete and cyclical character of reading as a perception. The interpretation
of the idea and visual approach allows the authors to demonstrate that its resources can be otherwise
perceived within the interdisciplinary character of modern theories. On the basis of general scientific
system-organizational concept which has been developed by the authors during the past decade, are
elaborated and compared the models of speaking and reading mechanisms reflecting the both sides
(graphical and acoustic) of the thought process and representing the transition of ideal images to their
material form.

COMPARISON OF THE LEVEL OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT, THE DEGREE OF DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICAL  QUALITIES AND FUNCTIONAL INDICES OF THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM AT THE FIRST-GRADERS IN MOSCOW MEGALOPOLIS

N. B. Pankova, S. V. Romanov, I. K. Evdokimova, G. I. Ishkova, M. Yu. Karganov

Abstract. Simultaneous testing of the level of physical development, the degree of development of physical
qualities and functional condition of the cardiovascular system and the systems of its autonomous
regulation at first-graders (Reutov, Moscow region) was carried out. It has shown that in general the
level of physical development of children corresponds to the standards, and most children successfully
cope with the strength tests the “Ready for Labor and Defense” complex. However, the standards on 30 m
running were unfulfilled. A possible reason for these difficulties is the functional tension in the autonomic
regulation of the cardiovascular system, it was revealed according to the heart rate variability
and baroreflex sensitivity. At the same time, most negative functional shifts were characteristic of boys.

primary schools. The analysis was applied to the textbooks published by Russian publishing companies
as well as textbooks, created jointly by Russian and British publishing houses, which the author
symbolically calls the „British”. It is noted that in such textbooks imitation technology of mastering the
language is used and the British culture appears to be dominant in the presented dialogue of cultures.
The results of this analysis demonstrate the lack of integration of culture and language, lack of focus
on the pupil’s native culture and usage of uninteresting tasks. Attention is drawn to the fact that using
British textbooks the teacher has to supplement the given cultural material as the representation
of multicultural values does not go beyond the background of ideas about culture and way of life. The
author underlines methodological primitivism of the cultural tasks construction in British textbooks
and the lack of guidelines for joint language and culture study.
Keywords: primary foreign language education, cultural paradigm, cultural content, cultural material,
spiritual and value orientation.
