“A TALE OF ROMAN LIFE” BY A. S. PUSHKIN
M. I. Nikola
Abstract.
The article considers Alexander Pushkin’s prose piece ‘A Tale of Roman Life’
which he had been writing in the last years of his life (1833–1836). Though the work remained
unfinished, the outline of the whole text, drafted by the author himself was kept.
The author of the article, based on the available fragment of the story and its General plan,
shows the depth and significance of the author’s idea, the experimental nature of the poetics
of the text. The article pays special attention to the variety of traditions creatively used by
the author, first of all, the ancient tradition. Thus, the author makes the main character of
the novel Roman writer Petronius, who became a victim of the despotism of Emperor Nero.
Pushkin in creating this character is based on the evidence of the Roman historian Tacitus
but develops and enriches the interpretation of this historical character who lived in the
first century ad. The article also shows Pushkin’s creative use of Petronius’s menippea, his novel „Satyricon”. The author of the article sees both the choice of the hero and the character
of the poetics of the story as a reflection of the growing drama in Pushkin’s attitude of
the last years of his life.

SPIRITUAL QUEST THEME IN PENELOPE FITZGERALD’S NOVEL “THE BEGINNING OF SPRING”
V. N. Ganin
Abstract.
The article analyzes Penelope Fitzgerald’s novel “The Beginning of Spring”.
Fitzgerald is a well-known English writer. The events of the book take place in Russia
before the First World War. Since Fitzgerald always treated Russian culture with great
love and put it above English in terms of spirituality, the theme of the character’s spiritual
quest is central in the work of literature. The disclosure of the topic is associated with four
main characters: Frank, Nelly, Selwyn, and Lisa. Selwyn and Lisa appear in the novel as
sources of spiritual influence, and Frank and Nellie are the objects of this influence. As the
story progresses, it turns out that the changes that occurred in Nelly under the influence of
Selwyn were superficial, and the woman quickly became disillusioned with the ideas inspired by her mentor. More difficult and covertly proceeds the spiritual evolution of Frank.
His practicality and skepticism impede spiritual formation. However, Lisa, who appeared
as an educator for children in the house, succeeds in first waking the sensual passions in
him, and then breaking his usual stability, laid the foundation for subsequent changes in
the inner world.
Keywords: Penelope Fitzgerald’s novels, the image of Russia in British Literature, theme
of the spiritual quest in literature, novel “The Beginning of Spring”.

TRADITION OF V. SCOTT’S HISTORICAL NOVEL IN THE WORKS OF E. BULWER-LITTON AND W. H. AINSWORTHE
E. V. Somova
Abstract.
The article deals with the little-studied novels of E. Bulwer-Lytton and William
H. Ainsworth and introduces new material into scientific circulation. The article analyzes
the basic principles of creating a historical narrative, the traditions of W. Scott in novels, the
specifics of the work of novelists with sources during the reconstruction of a historical era. In the process of text analysis, the following conclusions have been made. The result of E. Bulwer-
Lytton’s reflections on time and history is the idea that the culture of each individual era
depends on the culture of previous civilizations. If W. Scott’s historical process is associated
with the idea of development, the inevitable change of the old to the new, then E. Bulwer-
Lytton was characterized by a pessimistic view of the movement of history. The theme of the
historical novels of E. Bulwer-Lytton, as a rule, is the death of the era. Following the tradition
of V. Scott, E. Bulwer-Lytton widely attracts literary material and folklore. The poetic
language of the novel is associated with figurative ballads, legends, and chronicles.
The novels of E. Bulwer-Lytton and William H. Ainsworth are characterized by a complicated
chronotop when the narrative includes retrospection into the historical past. This
makes it possible to present a broad epic canvas, recreating the originality of nature, lifestyle,
and customs, the spiritual culture of the transitional historical epoch in terms of
the perception of the character. The artistic understanding of the historical process in the
novels makes it possible to identify the originality of the historical concept of writers in the
ethical-philosophical system of England in the XIX century.

narration.

THE STUDY OF ANCIENT LANGUAGES AS A BASIS FOR FORMING GENERAL PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF THE PHILOLOGIST IN THE CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL ASPECT OF LANGUAGE STUDY
E. O. Nepoklonova, L. I. Harchenkova
Abstract.
This article considers the issues of teaching classical languages in diachrony and
synchrony, describes the specifics of teaching Latin and ancient Greek languages from the era
of antiquity to our time. Attention is drawn to the relationship of philosophy, science and the
dominant model of the educational process at each of the stages of cultural development on
the example of the influence of the atomic science program of Democritus on the emergence
of the first methods and approaches to the study of language. These relationships can also be
traced in the era of the Middle Ages and the New Age. Particular attention is paid to the new
requirements for the educational process at the present time. In accordance with modern trends
in philology, lingua-didactic learning models should take into account interdisciplinary communication
in the field of philology. From the authors’ point of view, the intersection of general
subject fields of linguistics and literary criticism, the increasing role of comparative studies and
its methodological potential require fluency in several languages, including the ancient ones,
such as Latin and Greek, as well as understanding how languages are structured. According to
the authors, modern teaching of ancient languages requires the modeling of research situations,
and therefore the basis of methods of teaching ancient languages should be linguistic tasks and
heuristic tasks, commented text reading and analysis, the use of corpus linguistics data. The
authors of the article pay attention to the growth of the world and national Olympic movement
in the field of linguistics, in particular, in the field of studying ancient languages. According to
the authors, the domestic method of preparing for linguistic Olympiads has great potential for
the development of methods of teaching ancient languages. The described methodological ideas
and techniques can be used to form the language competence of modern students of philology.
Keywords: ancient languages, Latin, Greek, reflection, teaching methods, language competence,

S. V. Bredihina
Abstract.
The article deals with children’s word-formation errors manifested in the preschool
years, during the period of “word creation,” and identifies the main reasons for their
occurrence.
The article also defines the concept of “negative” language material, its role in the study
of grammar by younger schoolchildren.
The article describes the use of children’s speech errors in terms of distinguishing them
by the factor of overcoming or insuperability to the beginning of school education. It is defined
that the word-formation mistakes already overcome by children can be used: to help
students in understanding the structure of the language system, the functions of roots,
prefixes, suffixes, their meaning; to foster self- esteem as a native speaker; to form students
‘ emotional and value attitude to the Russian language; to develop cognitive interest in
language learning.
The article outlines that the specific purpose, place, and nature of the use of „negative”
language material as a means of learning depends on the solution of the issue of overcoming
or insuperability of speech error. Word-formative errors should be used at the stage of
setting the educational problem, at the stage of working out the morphemic skills of younger
students, at the stage of generalization of knowledge.
The article considers some methods of preventing the memorization of speech errors that allow
implementing the use of negative didactic material in the practice of teaching morphemics.
The article defines the features of using „negative” language material containing children’s
speech errors as didactic material in teaching younger students morphemics.
In accordance with the functions of children’s speech errors and the conditions for their use, a
fragment of the Russian language lesson is presented in which word-formation errors were used
to analyze the facts of the language at the training stage and the general logic of working with
word-formation errors was proposed. Examples of word-formation errors are given for the stage
of setting the learning task in the lessons of learning the morphemics of younger schoolchildren.
Keywords: morphemics, word formation, grammatical structure of language, word creation,

METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING SCHOOLCHILDREN THE USE OF
THE VECTOR METHOD OF SOLVING KINEMATIC TASKS IN PHYSICS
A. G. Valisheva, L. S. Amantaeva
Abstract.
Russia currently needs engineering personnel. The strategy of general education
is aimed at developing primary engineering competence among schoolchildren. During
their school years, students need to be introduced to the fundamentals of engineering
knowledge in order to evoke the need to develop engineering thinking, to develop an interest
in the processes of design, engineering, and creation of technical objects. This is necessary
for the students to make an informed choice of their future profession. To this end, there is
a need to revise existing teaching methods. A special role in the formation of engineering
thinking in schoolchildren is played by physics. It is the knowledge that helps to understand
the principles of operating technical devices, the ability to apply them affects the
quality of the technical object being created. The article considers the currently existing
shortcomings in the process of teaching physics, and attempts are made to solve some of
them, based on the theory of activity. Since knowledge cannot be acquired without practice,
when a teacher organizes activities to teach students how to solve physical problems, it is
necessary that this activity is aimed at mastering the methods of solving them, which allow
solving many different problems. These methods must be developed by the students themselves.
The article describes the method of teaching schoolchildren to the vector method of
solving problems in ballistics. The advantage of using this technique in teaching physics is
that students learn a vector method that allows them to solve problems of the ballistics of
any degree of complexity and in a short time.
Keywords: school education, vector method of solving problems, generalized method of
performing activities, planning of cognitive activity, activity-based learning theory.

INTEGRATION BY TEACHERS OF VARIOUS KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PEDAGOGICAL REALITY
M. A. Maznichenko, A. N. Platonovа
Abstract.
The article shows the possibility of integration by a teacher of diverse knowledge
about the pedagogical reality: scientific, the source of which is a specially organized scientific
research; everyday ones, the source of which is personal pedagogical and everyday experience
of an individual or collective subject (teacher, family, ethnic group); mythological,
the source of which is faith; artistic and figurative, obtained through artistic generalization
and typing of pedagogical phenomena and facts. The problems of practical application of
knowledge by a teacher are revealed: difficulties in the application of scientific knowledge,
their unreasonable simplification and distortion, the destructive influence of extra-scientific
knowledge due to the lack of their reflection and purposeful use. Methods of integrating various types of knowledge have been proposed, which can prevent the emergence of such
problems (methods of humanizing pedagogical activity, its problematization and reflection,
generating new pedagogical knowledge and innovative solutions to pedagogical problems,
encouraging teacher self-development).

MUSEUM PEDAGOGY AND METHODS OF TEACHING HISTORY: POINTS OF INTERACTION OF TWO SCIENCES
M. V. Korotkova
Abstract.
The article deals with the methodological analysis of the interaction of two scientific
disciplines – methods of teaching history and museum pedagogy. The author suggests
methodological approaches to the definition of the subject of both sciences and defines
their pedagogical nature. The proximity of the two pedagogical disciplines „methods of
teaching history” and „museum pedagogy” is considered by the fact that both at school and

P. B. Bekkerman, A. A. Davydova, T. E. Bekkerman
Abstract.
The article considers the need to use the potential of studying subjects from the
field of „Art” for the purpose of professional and creative growth of young students. In the
author’s opinion, the opportunities for this are mainly in the system of supplementary art
education, and for the success of this mission, it is important to fully consider both the characteristics
of the educational process in this educational sector and the individuality of young
people. Following the main principles of national pedagogy, as well as the provisions on pedagogical support, the authors propose as a new approach personality-oriented pedagogical
support, which guarantees the creation of an appropriate environment and conditions.
All of the above mentioned, in their opinion, will contribute to the professional and creative
development of students of all academic levels – from secondary vocational to higher vocational
education – through music lessons and participation in competitive events.
Keywords: creative development of young people, additional education, pedagogical support,
age characteristics of students, vocal lessons, functions of additional education, enlightenment,

THEORETICAL BASIS OF A FAMILY-ORIENTED PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM FOR STUTTERING PRESCHOOLERS
E. Yu. Rau, A. S. Chaykina
Abstract.
The article presents the data of a theoretical analysis of the special literature on the
origins of development and continuity in speech therapy of ideas about family psychological
and pedagogical rehabilitation of stuttering preschoolers in order to substantiate the relevance
and feasibility of developing this area at the present time. Various scientific approaches are
considered, the risk factors for the occurrence and development of stuttering, as well as the
communicative aspects of its manifestation, are highlighted. The theoretical background of
the family-oriented approach in the elimination of stuttering in preschool children is summarized,
as well as the optimal pedagogical conditions for its implementation.
This approach is substantiated by examples from scientific studies, from the classical period
of the beginning to the middle of the 20th century (in the works of I. A. Sikorsky, G. D.
Netkachev, E. Freschels, V. A. Gilyarovsky, representatives of the professional dynasty of
F. A. and E. F. Rau, N. A. Vlassova, R. E. Levina and others), up to the latest developments
of the XXI century (in the works of Yu. B. Nekrasova, N. L. Karpova, E. Yu. Rau, A. V. Golubina,
A. S. Chaikina and others), in which ideas were expressed and the systems of family-
oriented psychological and pedagogical correction of stutterers were described. However,
according to the authors, this trend at the present stage is not sufficiently developed in terms
of the absence of a description of the principles, stages, technologies, and conditions reflected
in the special program of family psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation for stuttering
preschoolers.
On the basis of theoretical and analytical research, the authors substantiate the relevance
of creating a special program based on an interdisciplinary psychological and pedagogical
approach, based on the creation of special conditions for the formation of a correctional speech,
communicative microenvironment both in speech therapy sessions and in the family.
Considering the material presented in the article on the theoretical analysis in the framework
of interdisciplinary research, the authors, emphasizing the relevance and novelty of
this approach, make the main conclusion that its development requires the integration of
speech therapy and psycho-correction technologies in the system for overcoming stuttering
in preschool children.
Keywords: stuttering treatment in preschool children, logo-psycho-correction, family environment,
stuttering structure, communication.

TRAINING AND RETRAINING OF ELDERLY DRIVERS
Yu. A. Kuznetsov
Abstract.
The article deals with the problem of ensuring safe driving for people of elderly
and senile age. Psychophysiological and physical changes that occur with age in the human
body impair his ability to drive a car. Sustained demographic aging of the population
increases the number of such drivers, which reduces the overall road safety. Training the
elderly and senile age people requires a special approach that takes into account all their
weaknesses and allows them to fully use their strengths. The article presents the training
and retraining program developed by the author for such drivers. It consists of several
stages that help to solve psychological, medical and psycho-physiological problems of the
driver arising with age, as well as to facilitate his theoretical and practical training, to
develop individual practical recommendations for safe driving.
Keywords: road safety, gerontology, driver training, driving school, elderly drivers.

O. E. Zimoglyad, Ju. S. Ivanova, A. A. Nikitina, E. N. Shamitova
Abstract.
No matter how banal the phrase that children are our future may seem it will
always have the deepest meaning. From the very early age, it is necessary to involve children
in such an important process as education, so that after a few years, we can see in
them the real professionals in their field to replace us. We need to convey to children that
today science is not a boring process distracting from games in a company with a bunch
of books, but an exciting activity that helps to find answers to important questions. In our
view, to do this it is desirable to present information in an accessible and interesting way.
